Oh how the writing profession has changed. It wasn’t long ago that if someone mentioned that he was using a table to pen his novel, I would have assumed it was a legal pad or some other type of notebook. Today our tablets, and notebooks for that matter, are computers.

In my previous blog posting, I wrote about how nice it would be to be in an MFA program. Some of you are there now, and I’m jealous. I’m so envious that I’ve made up my own program. I’ve scoured the websites of the MFA programs that interested me and then used their requirements as a template to fashion one of my own. So much has been written about MFA programs and graduates that much of it is cliché. However, that wouldn’t stop me from enrolling in an MFA program. There’s nothing like total immersion in one’s craft to grow as a writer. It’s always enjoyable to surround yourself with like-minded people and feed off the energy of a group that shares your passion. After spending time in the amazing Cleveland Public Library, I got to thinking about the recent demise of Borders. I remember the original store in Ann Arbor, back in my college days, when that was the only Borders Books in the country.
